khlong toei market

almost everywhere in asia, markets selling fresh goods are called "wet markets". a lot of water is used here - to keep fruits and vegetable fresh and of course to clean. so, usually the floor is always and almost everywhere wet, which makes it sometimes quite challenging to walk around.
bangkok's biggest wet market is the khlong toei market, which is both a wholesale and end-consumer market. it sprawls over numerous huge market halls and several streets. stalls selling any kind of food and much more can be found everywhere, not only inside the buildings. even the streets themselves are literally stuffed with vendors. it is just a big chaos: sellers are cutting, chopping, snipping and loudly praising what's on offer. deliverymen using all sizes of carts and baskets bring new goods or pick up what has been sold. and of course, there are customers everywhere hunting for the freshest products and best offers.
our apartment is luckily located in khlong toei district - in walking distance to the market - which makes it not only an easily accessible photo opportunity, but also a place where we also can recharge our fridge.
