rimal al wahiba

for me, the desert is the most fascinating landscape. my first desert experience had been crossing death valley on a trip to the usa in 1999. since then, i always had been wanting to go to other desert areas, especially some that are not crossed on paved roads.
visiting oman, finally there was another chance - a three-day-trip into rimal al wahiba.
luckily, a quite rare event just had happened the day before: rain. i did not expect to see so many plants. but even without rain, this desert is scattered with trees that somehow manage to survive in such a hostile enviroment with temperatures sometimes up to 50 degrees. but not only trees, even humans do survive here as some bedouins have permanently settled deep in this desert.
