wisakha bucha is highest buddhist holiday in thailand. on this day that is also called vesak festival thai buddhist celebrate the birth of buddha, his enlightenment and the entrance into nirvana.
especially in the evening, shortly before sunset, the believers gather in the temples to make donations and offerings and to perform a variety of religious rituals. above all, vesak is a festival of joy and reflection, and thanks to our landlady, we were lucky to experience this great atmosphere in a very large and lively temple away from the tourist areas of the city.
